There are several myths and misnomers that surround online
education. When it comes to Online MBA programs quite a few academicians are of the opinion that they are isolated programs.
They point out that the main role of a manager is to draw out the best from the
team and deliver on time and these programs are more based on individual
learning. So, what’s your take on this issue?
It’s true that for the most part of the program the student is
engaged with individual studies; however it doesn’t mean that they are
completely isolated. This is because there are modules that have been designed
that require the student to engage in dialogue or conversation with other
students. Chat, discussion boards and group projects mandate students to work
as a team in order to achieve a common goal. It leads to healthy interaction
between students at the same time it doesn’t require them to be physically
present in the same place.
Besides that just because this is an online course doesn’t
mean that the student is far removed from the academic instructors. This is
because, there are modules which the students needs to complete that comprise
of lectures given by professors, which are pre recorded. In case, a student has
a doubt then they can go ahead and write to them and the professors would
certainly help them. Apart from that professors who take full time MBA programs
are mentors for online programs as well, so you won’t have to worry about the
quality of education that is being imparted.
